Detroit, MI – Detroit Lions Defensive Tackle and philanthropist Ndamukong Suh and the Ndamukong Suh Family Foundation hosted his 90 Backpack Program on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:00am for Henderson Academy students located at 16101 W. Chicago St., Detroit, MI 48227.
The 90 Backpack Program is a feature of Suh’s foundation to support education in Detroit schools. In addition to providing scholarships for high school students to attend the University of Nebraska, the Ndamukong Suh Family Foundation is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to all ages and funding for students in all of Suh’s past and present home bases. The 90 Backpack Program in addition to being held in Detroit, is also in Portland, OR and Nebraska, where the 90 Backpack Program has already been hosted by Suh family members.
In addition to providing the backpacks, the University of Nebraska engineering graduate Ndamukong Suh spoke with students regarding the importance of education and good decision making in and out of school.
“I think it’s very important to come out to the schools and reward the students for their efforts
while encouraging them to do their best in school,” said Suh.
“I want them to know that what you do and learn right now will help determine the outcome
of what you will do in the future.”
